I didn't much like Origins and the whole 'give mutants equal rights'
storyline seemed unbelievable to me - there was my thinking MC-1 was
already overpopulated and crime-ridden so where exactly are the
mutants going to live? - but Wagner must be taking the proverbial
pi*s by having us believe Hershey would give Justice Dept lawgivers
to mutants!
What the...?
Hand on heart, Wagner is a great writer and the definitive Dredd
writer - we all know that - but in recent years he's lost the Dredd
plot BIG TIME. Even if you believe Justice Dept is accepting of
mutants (and it's very hard to believe), how can we believe Justice
Dept would give lawgivers to mutants!?
Lawgivers are the property of Justice Dept and only used by Judges.
No citizen is allowed to use lawgivers - and that includes cit-def.
Surely it's too unbelievable to think Hershey would give lawgivers to
mutants? And why Dredd's family? Are they special? Is she going to
give *all* mutants their own lawgivers? And what would happen if one
of the mutants decided to go on a killing spree, using the lawgiver?
Seems mighty irresponsible to give the most lethal handgun in MC-1 to
a bunch of muties!
I dunno, maybe she could have given them a 'I love Justice Dept' t-
****rt instead? :P
Is there any chance Mr Wagner can stop writing Dredd's world in such a
pansy way and give us the original 'tough as nails' Dredd world? All
this mutant stuff is silly and corrupts the essence of Dredd's world.
MC-1 is a fascist state - but now it's Dredd getting in hissy fits if
he doesn't get his way with mutants and Hershey giving mutants their
own lawgivers! Why is John Wagner obsessed with this lame reinvention
of Dredd's world?
