An undeniably fine writer but his constant moaning about how Hollywood
has ruined his work seems mighty hyproctical. I'd say 99 percent of
articles about Moore's work have him moaning about how his work is
unfilmable or how Hollywood continues to destroy his books. From what
I've read on the matter, I believe most of his work belongs to him,
not sure about Watchmen, perhaps it's the property of DC Comics - but
he takes Hollywood's money and still complains:
"Moore is not interested in the adaptation, however, and has insisted
his name should not be attached to the movie.
He believes most modern films are not only artistic failures but
"probably detrimental to modern culture."
I accept I am a hypocrite - I say I am leaving this board forever and
come back but it's a silly if rather tired joke - Moore's hypocrisy is
the worst kind - he bites the hand that feeds up. Hey, Alan, if you
don't want Hollywood to ruin your books, don't sell the rights to
them. Quite simple. Don't take the money. But he does and still
complains. Anyway, his rank hypocrisy doesn't take away his
achievements as a writer.
