It'll never beat my idea for an epic Future Shock(TM) about a giant disc 
found in the remote Himalayas: it has a large line going from the centre 
to the edge and strange hieroglyphics around it.

Of course, it is too late when they finally decipher the markings -- 
just as the disc rotates from the symbol identified as "Wash" and stops 
at the one translated as "Spin Cycle", and the daylight starts to fade 
more quickly than usual...

It has classic written all over it.  Oh yes.
