DANIEL CLOWES
book signing for Ice Haven
Friday, June 24th at 7:00 pm
at The Booksmith (1644 Haight Street in San Francisco)
Welcome to Ice Haven! "It's not as cold here as it sounds," declares
Random Wilder, our reluctant guide to this sleepy Midwestern town. Ice
Haven, the new graphic novel from Daniel Clowes, weaves a
multi-layered tale that, while it owes a debt to Our Town, is
ultimately based on and inspired by the case of Leopold and Loeb.
Please note: this is a book signing only.
Daniel Clowes is an acclaimed author of numerous graphic novels. Ghost
World, his most popular book, has sold more than 100,000 copies. Ghost
World was also the basis for a popular film by Terry Zwigoff. A new
Clowes-based, Zwigoff-directed film, Art School Confidential, is set to
debut in September.
Author events are free and located at our San Francisco store (1644
Haight Street in San Francisco, between Clayton & Cole). For further
information, call 415-863-8688 or visit www.booksmith.com /// If you
can't attend an event and would like to purchase an autographed book,
please telephone or email the Booksmith.
