Is Kyle's ring still exceptional?

With the Hal and the other GLs showing up again (and the Corp to follow
soon)...leaves me wondering:  Is Kyle's ring still different?  i.e. the
indifference to yellow and the recharge issues versus the classic rings 24
charge, yellow weakness and AI?
