Anybody follow Kirby's entry into DC? He had 3 magazines under the
monicker
"New Gods. The Titles of the Kirby DC project were were the Forever
People,
New Gods, and Orion.
The story of Kirby's departure is that he didn't get "proper credit" for
the
titles at marvel and too much credit was given to others. Earlier Steve
Ditko had left and had a pretty goood run of ideas and art with Charlton
(although a later DC run with Creeper, Hawk& Dove) was lackluster.
Jack Kirby's poor dialogue and individual editions organization in New
Gods
made me wonder about his clain of extensive story and writing contribution
at Marvel. The art was not as stron on the new gods either, and that meade
me wonder if having someone else ink the drawings (as Marvel did) actually
polished his Marvel work.
DId Kirby and Leiber (Stan Lee) ever mend the rift?
