The line in the comic was "They have lost themselves in ancient
civilisations and future times."

The implication is that that Superboy and/or Supergirl are from
between "now" and Kingdom Come.

One would assume that it occurs sometime in the future of the reboot
that was cut off.

No.  It's a likely guess, though.

You like the idea because it removes it from the original Legion.

Possible.  True.  Earth-15 couldn't even have a Legends of Dead Earth
Legion, could it?

The animated series are connected, however the future Hal Jordan
differs from the Green Lantern in BB, so I think it's fair to say that
they've taken the idea of Batman Beyond, not the story and since they
have been completely silent on the matter, we can't make assumptions
on the rest of the DCAU.
