So our Captain Marvel is really a Skrull who doesn't remember he is a
Skrull. Who so completely has Marvel's memories (or we are led to
believe) that he acts as if, and along with the Skrull engineering,
is, basically "Captain Marvel".
So... the whole coming out of the past through the Negative Zone,
appears to be an implanted memory.
But, what if . . .
This Skrull who thinks.. or would be. . . Captain Marvel
what if he decides to do the same thing... in reverse?
What if the Skrull Marvel goes back into the past, let's say
just prior to when the "real" Captain Marvel was exposed to Nitro's
carcinogenic blast.
And switches places with the real Marvel, sending him into "now", to
replace his Skrull-iness, as the real one and true Captain Marvel.
Well, for starters...
it is the Skrull Marvel who gets cancer and dies with all the Earth
Super Heroes present.
Since the Skrull science locks his form as Marvel (possibly an
improvement or similar to the bomb that once locked *all* Skrulls into
whatever form they were in at that time), the corpse that Skrull
Marvel leaves behind is treated by all as the real deal; buried etc.
etc.
We now have the real Captain Marvel escaping the death sentence of
Cancer, but we also have something else.
Genis and Phyla are really the genetic tinkering/offshoots of Marvel's
widow (Elsisus? sic) *and* a Skrull (locked into Marvel's form, albeit
with his abilities - more or less).
Well,, let the zanieness ensue!
