I'm looking for information on an old comic story I remember reading
when I was about 6 or 7 (early to mid 60's?). It was a horror comic,
possibly DC's House of Mystery, House of Secrets etc, as I seem to recall
the artist was Carmine Infantino (his artistic style is sticking in my
head for some reason although it may have been someone else).
The few bits I can remember from the story is this guy wearing a
fancy jacket and hat stops at a (haunted?) house in his little sports car.
For some reason, he goes inside and ends up in the attic. His girlfriend
is waiting in the car and shortly he returns and they drive off.
You then see the bottom of the attic stairs and this clump of hat,
crumpled clothes and shoes come hopping down the stairs, sounds coming
from the clump of clothes. The conclusion you draw from the story
is that, whatever was up in the attic, switched places with the guy and
crushed him into a small heap.
