So far as I can tell I *think* the joke is supposed to be that
Garfield is exaggerating his speech thought bubble and appearing bigger
than anytime since the first year of the strip when he was drawn the
size of Madagascar, but the whole thing has the feeling of being a joke
that sent the writing room into such fits of giggles they didn't care
if it made sense.
